Kayaking

On the Soča River in Solkan, there is a top-class slalom course, often hosting major national and international wildwater kayaking and canoeing competitions. Thanks to the mild Mediterranean climate, it is a popular year-round training spot for athletes from around the globe.

Along the course stands the Kayak Centre on the Soča in Solkan, which is the national centre for kayaking sports. Slightly upstream, just below the hydroelectric plant, are the club facilities of the Soške Elektrarne Kayak Club, which has significantly contributed to the sport’s recognition in the region and boasts numerous top achievements by its members in major world competitions.

The centre is only 1 km from Hotel Sabotin.
